Here is my favorite happiness quote.

This is my thought as to how we live in our culture. I realize that what we would describe as "happiness" is simply our perception at work.

We do not have the ability to cleanly decide for ourselves what will make us happy, that is without the influence of guilt, and a "desire" to do the right thing. It is, in fact, not a desire at all, but rather a fear. Fear of disapproval. Fear of rejection.

In order to achieve happiness we must cast away society, and live free, true to our own feelings.
