My Mom said this to me so many times while I was growing up. It has made an impact on my life.

If I am tempted to say something bad about someone, her quote comes to mind. As I got older and became a Christian, I realized that the principle came from God's Word.

God would have us treat other people as we want to be treated, and that includes building them up and not tearing them down with our words.

I am not sure if she got the quote from someone else or just from reading God's Word.
