Four years ago, I was renting a house, spinning my wheels at a job I hated with no purpose, and no college degree. I was becoming resigned to the life I had.

I came across this inspirational quote by George Eliot at a low point. I made a promise to myself that I would improve my life.

I went to help a friend find a location where they were testing for a position with the county I live in. I ended up taking the test myself since I was there.

I ended up passing the test and did well enough that I ended up being the highest scoring applicant of the original 120 people who came to take the test. I was offered the job and accepted. It offered a significant pay raise.

A short while later my wife and I went house hunting and were able to purchase a new home. I also took online classes and eventually earned my business degree.
