Marriage Quote by Harville Hendrix

"Marriage, ultimately, is the practice of becoming passionate friends."

--Harville Hendrix

This quote captures the essence of what I think a marriage should be: A joining of two friends who vow to love each other for the rest of their lives.

And becoming passionate friends is something that needs to be practiced--each party should be appreciated and cherished and always the priority to the other. We don't take our friends for granted (at least, we shouldn't) and we should never take our spouse for granted.

That's how I've always felt, and how I will always feel about marriage.
